Happy New Year to all of our friends, clients and supporters. We appreciate all of you making 2013 a great year for Lowe Productions. As we enter the new year, we are making changes to better serve our customers.
During event recordings in the month of December, we tested a new digital audio recording system that allows us greater control over the final audio heard on choral, band and orchestra concert DVDs. While our testing was a success, the hardware unit itself did not meet our standards and needs. However, an even better unit will soon be in it’s place and in use for upcoming events.
We have also acquired a small action camera that can be placed just about anywhere, allowing us to capture angles and views of performances where a normal camera simply cannot be used. It will take some experimenting at first, but we plan to take full advantage of this remarkable unit.
Our live event recording service will be expanded this year. We will be able to offer “instant DVDs” on site with multi-camera angles and crisp, clear stereo sound. In 2013, we were lucky enough to be able to offer this service at cheer competitions & choral competitions. In 2014, we will make the service available at other events.
As many experienced in the month of December, our turnaround times for shipping event DVDs was drastically reduced. In some cases, orders shipped in under one week! With some streamlining, changes to our software processes and reducing the number of events booked during the busy months of April, May and June, we will continue to provide much less of a wait than in years past.
I will be updating this blog regularly to provide an inside look at what goes into recording events, as well as the editing and preparation aspects, more about us and various other things that I hope you will find interesting. If you have any subject suggestions, comments or questions, please let me know.
In the meantime, we are looking forward to serving you in the upcoming year!
